Electric Service Installation

The installation of electrical facilities in residential buildings is a technically complicated task requiring specialized training. Only licensed electricians are qualified by the State of Texas to perform these tasks. Licensed electricians are thoroughly trained in the installation of all electrical equipment and wiring, and demonstrate a complete knowledge of the National Electric Code, published by the National Fire Protection Association, as well as local code requirements.

MVEC has prepared a booklet titled Electric Service and Meter Installation Guidelines that provides licensed electricians with information they will find helpful regarding MVEC policies and procedures as related to providing residential and commercial service and the installation of necessary metering. MVEC policies, for example, may be more restrictive than either local or national codes. This booklet is available at no cost.
