Scholarship Program 2004

For the seventh year, MVEC has awarded $100,000 to five local Rio Grande Valley High School students. Over 200 students from across the Valley applied for the 2004 scholarships. The winners were honored at the Magic Valley Electric Coop Annual Meeting on April 12th, in Weslaco, TX. Sarah Ibrahim from Edinburg North High will be attending Rice University where she plans to major in chemistry. Jarrett Lassig from the Science Academy plans to attend Texas A&M and major in Mechanical Engineering. Brandon McNallen from Memorial High plans to attend Texas A&M and major in Engineering. Kellie M. Swanberg from Raymondville High also plans to attend Texas A&M and major in Agricultural Science. Rick Zuniga from Rio Hondo High plans to attend Rice University and will major in education.
