ENERGY STAR for New Homes Program
Introduction
The 2012 MVEC ENERGY STAR for New Homes Program will offer incentives to home builders that complete and submit certification of the construction of new ENERGY STAR qualified homes in the MVEC service territory from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012.
Our ENERGY STAR New Homes program promotes construction of energy-efficient homes that provide homebuyers with the most energy efficient home for their money. ENERGY STAR Qualified homes offer energy efficient features that contribute to improved home quality and homeowner comfort.
To earn the ENERGY STAR, a home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. All ENERGY STAR qualified homes must be inspected and tested by a third-party accredited Home Energy Rating Company.
